Diamond Report Parameter
- Carat: Carats specify the weight of a diamond, with natural diamonds typically ranging from 0.15 to 1.99 carats. The carat weight can also vary depending on the diamond's color, particularly within the D-to-Z color range.
- Color: A diamond’s cut is determined by how it interacts with light, showcasing desirable visual effects like Brightness (reflection), Fire (scattering of light), and Scintillation (sparkle). Based on these factors, Saint Athena Gem Lab evaluates diamonds on a scale that includes Proportion, Symmetry, and Polish.
- Fluorescence: Fluorescence is a property of diamonds that reveals itself when exposed to different light intensities, emitting a bluish light or, more rarely, yellow or orange light. Saint Athena Gem Lab measures fluorescence on a color scale—None, Faint, Medium, Strong, and Very Strong—depending on the intensity of the diamond’s fluorescence.
- Clarity: While a perfectly pure diamond is rare, clarity is measured based on characteristics such as the number, size, relief, nature, and position of inclusions. After identifying these factors, the diamond is graded on a scale that includes: Flawless (FL), Internally Flawless (IF), Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS1 and VVS2), Very Slightly Included (VS1 and VS2), Slightly Included (SI1 and SI2), and Included (I1, I2, and I3).
- Cut: A diamond’s cut is determined by how it interacts with light, producing desirable visual effects such as Brightness (reflection), Fire (scattering of light), and Scintillation (sparkle). Based on these characteristics, Saint Athena Gem Lab evaluates diamonds using a scale that includes Proportion, Symmetry, and Polish.
